Terms of Service

Mayfield is an inclusive and safe space for all people to engage in creative and intellectual expression. All ideas are welcome. You agree to be conscious and respectful of others, their ideas, their work, the space, and the equipment that you share and that if you can’t be that you will leave.

Mayfield offers the use of some machinery and tools. You agree that you are fully capable of using that machinery or those tools you choose to use while here and that if you’re not you will ask for and receive tuition or support (via a relevant introductory class or some other agreed instruction) to operate that machinery and those tools before you begin using them when you arrive for the first time.

As an individual attending at Mayfield you agree that you will take full responsibility for any breakages caused by you to equipment, tools, or the work of other’s while you are here and for any injuries that you or your child sustains while attending Mayfield Street.

As someone renting an entire space for your own purposes you agree that you are responsible for the space, the tools and the equipment associated with the space that you are renting and your needs within it, and any people who attend Mayfield for your purposes or in conjunction with the space that you have rented for your own purpose and for the damage they might cause.

COVID19

Due to COVID19 anyone attending Mayfield must respect current Victorian Covid-Safe requirements.

  • Let us know if you’ve tested positive to COVID19!

Wet Room Studio access

  • Cost: $30 per half day

  • Kiln use: $10 per kilogram, bisque and stoneware firings.

  • Hours: 9am-3.15pm Tuesday to Thursday unless otherwise booked for group activities.

  • Must be 18+ to use the studio.

  • All studio bookings are online only.

  • Any pottery items you require from the shop must be paid for before leaving.

  • The Studio includes access to a pottery wheel and throwing batts, 2.2 metre long work bench, banding wheel (25cm), slab roller, extruder, boards, newspaper, miscellaneous other tools.

  • No use of the kiln unless via prior negotiation.

  • All equipment must be cleaned thoroughly after use and returned to where you found it.

  • You must label your work with name and phone number. You may keep your work in the drying cupboard for up to two weeks. If it hasn’t then been moved to the firing shelves it will be thrown away to make space for the work of others.

  • All personal items are to be removed at the end of the day. If you leave them we will put them in a lost property bin but then that will go to charity once it’s full.

  • No dry sanding. No dry material allowed at all (chemicals, powder glaze, plaster, etc).

  • No phone calls inside.

  • Use headphones while listening to music.

  • Closed toe shoes only, no food or drink. No food or drink in any sink.

  • Start cleaning up 15 minutes before your time ends so that you’re finished on time.

    WEEKEND STUDIO USERS

  • The Studio is available for use via online reservations at a rate of $30 per half day. https://www.2mayfieldstreet.com.au/workspace

  • On the weekends the studio opens for use at 9am and closes at 3.15pm sharp.

  • If you have a reservation and the shop is unattended, please phone 0426629523 and Michael will let you in.

  • Use without prior arrangement is not possible.

  • Please do not bring guests without gaining approval.

  • Thank you for your understanding.

Film Society

  • Membership is on a 3, 6 or 12 monthly basis. You can cancel your own membership at any time or asked to have it cancelled by Mayfield. Should you wish to do so, we recommend that you cancel as close to the end of your three month subscription as possible so that you don’t miss out on any information sent by email to the Film Society.

  • Demonstration of membership is required at attendance. Please present your membership card when you arrive.

  • Screenings are Friday nights.

  • BYO alcohol. Glasses and ice buckets available on site. Chips and soft drinks and popcorn are available for purchase. No other food to be brought onto the premises.

  • A one month membership pass is available at the door for a flat rate of $20. This allows access to any film filmed within a one month time period from date of purchase. However, it does not allow access to online seat reservations or to free passes.
